Have a Nice Trip

This morning, engulfed in the chaos of trying to get two toddlers to eat breakfast while nursing a newborn, Becky said, "I think I'm going to go insane!!!!" Hailey simply replied to this with: "Bye-bye mommy."

Another time we were riding in the car as Hailey entertained herself by repetitively asking where we were going. Finally, Becky said, "The funny farm. That's it. We're going to the funny farm!" Hailey then asked, "Are there cows at the funny farm?...and sheep?...and horses?...Can we come too? Soon Sarah joined in and kept asking to go to the "faaaahm." She was quite disappointed when we finally told her we weren't going to any farm and we weren't going to see any animals.

I must say that five years ago I never would have imagined that we'd now have three little girls, especially not that we'd have 3 girls aged three and under. What were we thinking? Despite the craziness that is now our life, we are so thankful for the sweet (most of the time) girls we have been blessed with. Hailey, now about three and a half, loves books, her gymnastics class, reading and being a mommy to her two younger sisters. Sarah, almost 2, is coming into her own with her personality. She loves to sing, go to her nursery class and to dance and do anything her big sister does. Our most recent addition, Aimee, is three weeks old and is a sweet little girl. If only we could get her to sleep through the night :) Here are some recent pics of our girls.

Does anyone know how to make our photo bigger?

Remember those cool mason jar crafts where you poured several different layers of colored salt/sand into the jar until you had a cool design at the end? Well, today reminded me of that. This morning I thought I'd catch some z's while Becky and Sarah were at the store since Hailey usually entertains herself pretty well. Everything was going well with this little plan until Becky came home and found 6 layers of jello mix poured on the floor of the pantry and much of the candy pulled from the cupboard. I suppose it's good that small kids have big imaginations and are very curious. I just wish they would confine their activities to coloring on the back of our mortgage statement or something.

Now that we have our blog back I will try, and I do stress the word, "TRY" to keep this updated maybe once a week. Seems that life is crazy right now with an 18 month old, an almost 3 year old and another baby on the way. Life just seems to be zooming by. We just spend a whirlwind weekend with Matt's parents, Marc and Ginger and their kids over by Lake Palestine in Texas. Wish we could have stayed longer because we spent more time in the car than we spent there with the family since Matt had to be back here to work at 7 this morning. Maybe next time we'll be able to stay longer.

We are now in Lubbock, well, technically Wolfforth, Texas and have been for about 6 months. The heat is crazy, the rain and windstorms even worse, but being here with Matt's family sure helps.

Hailey will turn three next month. I can't hardly believe it. To help celebrate we're going to travel to Washington to visit some of my family, go to the beach (Hailey's so excited!! She loves the let the waves chase after her) and after we return from there we're heading over by Dallas for a Wiggles show. Crazy, huh? The kids will love it, and we might have a little fun as well. Hailey loves her nursery class, spends her time reading and doing puzzles, etc. and is really enjoying her gymnastics class she goes to once a week.

Sarah, poor girl, has had one thing after another this summer. She's gotten 7 or 8 teeth since we moved here, she broke her leg as a result of a big folding table falling on her, then she got the chicken pox and now she has a nasty cold and has to learn to share a bedroom with her older sister. We're trying to get them to sleep upstairs so that we can use the other downstairs bedroom for the baby once she comes.

Yes, another girl. We were both a little relieved. While we would have loved having a boy, after having two girls we are prepared for whatever we might need for a girl.

This is turning into a novel, so I'll end for tonight. Maybe later in the week I can get some new pictures posted since the last ones on here are a little dated :)

I don't really like doing these little survey things, but thanks to the friend who sent it we now have the web address for our blog again. Sad, but true, it's been so long since we updated this blog, and we've moved and gotten a different computer, so we lost our old info and it took something like this to get us to keep up on things. Maybe n ow we'll be a little better about updating this thing.

I don't think many of our friends have blogs besides Sami and Cameron and the others would be annoyed or wouldn't respond if we did send this to them. So, I guess I'll just answer the questions.

4 things that should go into room 101 and be removed from the face of the earth:
*Cameron suggested the person who started this blog meme thing. I would have to agree with that. *Pesky Texan huge bugs that keep invading my house. I sure miss Idaho. *Whatever it is that makes toddlers/preschoolers scream and make me want to pull my hair out. *The home warranty people who aren't exactly doing their job. Maybe they're just hoping that if they wait long enough our warranty will expire and we'll have to fix the problems ourselves.

3 things people do that make you want to shake them violently:
*Nothing makes me really want to be that violent, but it drives me crazy when people won't let me onto the freeway. Seems everyone is in such a hurry that the southern hospitality goes out the window once they close the car door. *When people don't follow through with what they say they'll do. *The whole screaming toddler thing again....I sure hope it's just a phase.

Little Sarah is almost six months old- loves to play with her sister, her toes and anything else you give to her. Doesn't much care for rice cereal anymore- at first she loved it, now she doesn't want to eat it at all. I guess we'll wait a while again and try something else. Isn't she cute?!! 

We can't believe that Hailey is almost two already. She is getting so big and so smart, and is talking more and more all the time. She comes up with funny things to say, like "Cheese-a-mio", whatever that means, and will say ni-night house, byebye house, enunciating every syllable. One day she was being particularly ornery and I about wanted to pull all of my hair out, but after eating all of her lunch I told her "Hooray for Hailey" and she sweetly answered back, "ray a mama" meaning hooray for me. Cute girl. Now she says "hooray a byebye" calls raisins "rayos" and loves to always answer the same things when we ask her what she wants to eat for lunch- chicken, peas, cheese and apples. Not that it's all we feed her, but it's what she always says she wants to eat. She loves to help us clean up messes when it's time for her to go to bed, and will chant, "Clean up! Clean up!" and is learning how to say her colors and many other things. She has recently learned to play with play doh, to climb onto the big kids slides at the park and to play with her daddy's "Darth Tater" (a Star Wars Mr. Potato Head). She loves nursery and loves Elmo and Ernie and loves to watch the Wiggles, and even asks for them each by name. Silly girl. She amazes us all the time with the new things she can say or do. Lately, though, she's been pulling the wallpaper trim off of her wall, not such a cute thing for her to do. Not only does she pull it off, but then she hides the paper under her bed or between the mattress and the end of the bed. So, we know that she knows exactly what she's doing, and also that she shouldn't be doing it! She's way too smart for our own good. 

Here's our cute Sarah. She's such a silly girl these days. Matt likes to call her our "Little Houdini" since it doesn't matter how tightly or carefully we wrap her in a blanket before putting her to bed, she somehow gets her little arms out. She's quite the screechy kid, too, a habit I'm sure she picked up from her older sister.
